Bilstein Shocks
Bilstein Shocks will give you a comfortable ride with plenty of rigidity. The only thing I warn you to do is take into mind what kind of springs you have in your car. I have an NA but I added SS springs to the car (one of the stiffest you can get) and when I ordered the Shocks I didn't even think of telling them I'd need stiffer shocks than normal for the '84NA.
I had to do some repair work after my first installation.
I don't know if the mistake is too costly in my case, but I sure wish I'd paid attention to match springs with shocks. Sometimes when I hit bumps, if I don't immediately hit the gas, the car oscillates slightly in the back.
So, get some nice springs and get Bilsteins to match. I should've ordered Bilsteins for the '88 SS when I ordered them, though I don't know if the size, thickness, bolt match up.
Bilsteins come with a lifetime warranty. I wonder if they'll allow me to get stiffer ones if these go bad.
Good Shocks are essential for master handling. Get good springs to go along with your shocks. The combination of good springs, shocks, polyeurethane endlink bushings, and other necessary bushings are all important to get the best handling out of your Z.
